How can you know whether a career is right for you if you have never had the opportunity to experience the world behind it?
Experience Your Future Job is an ERA initiative designed to bring young people closer to the professions and institutions they are considering for their future.
The project gives students interested in politics, international relations, diplomacy and public affairs the opportunity to step beyond the classroom and discover how these fields work in practice.
Through visits to embassies, diplomatic missions, public institutions and international organisations, participants gain first-hand insight into different professional environments, meet the people working within them and learn about the paths that can lead there.
Experience Diplomacy
One of the project’s central areas is diplomacy.
Diplomatic careers can often seem distant and difficult to understand from the outside. What does a diplomat actually do? How does an embassy operate? What does representing a country abroad involve? What skills and experiences are needed to pursue a career in international affairs?
We bring young people directly into this world.
Participants have the opportunity to visit embassies and diplomatic missions, meet ambassadors and diplomatic representatives, and engage in conversations about international relations and their professional experiences.
